Hi, this is my first post on here and feel like bit of an imposter as I drive an XF x260 and not an XE but this forum has been very helpful with information as the cars are so similar.
Anyway as many of you know Jaguar have removed spotify from incontrol apps and for us with only the standard ICT I feel like a big part of the systems functionality has been taken away. However I think I found a way of getting it back. What I have done is working on my android samsung S9+ I will list the steps below:
1. I cleared the cache and storage of the incontrol app this reset the app. On starting the app and going through the tour I see spotify is back
2. I downloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netspark.firewall I used this app to block Jaguar incontrol apps internet connection
3. I turned off automatic app updates in the play store.
By following these steps I still have spotify working. I have also updated this evening to the latest spotify and it's still working. I'm not sure how long it will work for but I am happy for now Hi All,
I'm struggling to resolve InControl <-> Car connectivity issues. The app and website briefly (a few journeys following collection) could talk to the car but then stopped with no further comms. I've tried the sim out, wifi off, 30 mins off, >10s bCall advice given here to see if I can kick it out of this state but made no progress.
Trying to remove then add the car didn't work out well either. Latest is that the website declares 'Removal of the above vehicle has been partially completed. Please retry removal for this vehicle'. App says no vehicle associated with account. Retry doesn't work and displays 'Sorry, it was not possible to remove the vehicle from the account. Please try again.' in an endless loop.
